Today was a bad day….or a bad school day. And I used these students’ (aka one student in particular) as an excuse to take the easy road out. I used this student’s bad behavior and insubordination to make me feel justified in being lazy here at home.

On the way home from work instead of picking up some good groceries, I went to Taco Bell because I felt I didn’t have the time or energy to make something healthy. Instead of releasing my frustrations at the gym, I turned on the tv, cracked a Blue Moon, and “graded papers.”

Balls at me…

How can I be healthy with long hours, little sleep, and excuses up the wazoo??! I need help!

Weigh in Wednesday

My posting has been nearly non-existant of late, and for that I apologize. These middle schoolers are really taking it out of me. Thirteen hour days every day are not to my liking, and by the time I get home I have no energy to talk about my (not so great) progress in reaching my goals.

But here goes the weigh in……

Height: 5’7

SW: 182

LW: 178.8

CW: 177

Woot! A 1.8lb loss!! There was no gym time in that weight loss which makes me feel a bit proud for still losing, but at the same makes me frown cause I can’t get in the habit of not going!

MGMT- Kids

So this video is super disturbing and weird, HOWEVER I used to listen to this everyday I drove to school to teach my little hooligans in Napa Valley.

Today is my first day of teaching here in Redding, and I’m jamming to this song cause it helps me get ready to take on another day of adolescent hormones. Cross your fingers and pray that today is a great day and I can leave school with the feeling that I will survive the year.

Wimpering….

I woke up this morning and did my 30 Day Shred (super proud that I woke up early to do this cause I hate waking up any second earlier than necessary) then headed off to my classroom at 8:15am.

Today was school registration, so we had to fit in a bunch of staff meetings beforehand of course. Needless to say I hardly got anything done and just got home at 9:45pm!!

Soft wimpers are the only noises I can make at this point.

Starting Weight: 182

Previous: 179.2

Current Weight: 178.8

That means I lost less than half a pound. A loss is a loss though. And with this last week’s schedule and diet (or lack thereof), I’ll take what I can get.

So Much to Do!!

I’m running around like a crazy person right now trying to get ready to leave soon. Tumblr won’t see me for about a week, unless I get some time to steal someone’s internet.

Leaving today to head down to the bay area for some teacher meetings, but first, I’m meeting a friend down there to look at wedding gowns. Can you believe she was going to go by herself?!

Then meetings all day Wednesday. That night I’ll head to Angwin to stay with some friends and celebrate the fact that one is finished at her job and getting married in 3 weeks. Hopefully we’ll get a good nights sleep so we can head to San Francisco early in the morning to live it up all the way till EARLY Friday morning. We’re going to the Cal Academy of Science for nightlife (a 21+ event at the museum with drinking, dancing and djs), then heading to hear CLASSIXX. Woot! I’m planning on being the DD so I don’t drink all those calories away (this makes me sad and happy at the same time).

Friday and Saturday will be spent locked in a room working on my lesson plans and NOT wine tasting.

Sunday another super good friend is getting married, so I will be in attendance. What is it with everyone getting married??! Am I the only 24 year old that hasn’t jumped on this bandwagon?

Then Monday and Tuesday are a couple other thrilling days of teacher meetings.

Busy, busy. BUT first, I already did the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Holy bajeezies! She’s kicking my ass, I’ve been sore since Sunday. AND then I desperately need to find a tailor before I leave to start working on my bridesmaid dress for friend #2’s wedding.

Packing at some point would also be vital to my next weeks existence…

August Goals

1. Lose 10lbs

2. Count them calories

3. Don’t eat in front of the TV

4. Make at least one new healthy recipe a week

5. Make new friends!

I think #5 is super important for me because not knowing anyone here is getting the best of me. I eat more cause there’s no one to talk to. I don’t work out as much (though I obviously have enough time to) because that extra friend push is super vital to me at this point.

So I’m gonna have to get uncomfortable, get out there and meet people in order to keep sane.

A Day of Hooray

Today one of my bests is coming up to visit me from the Napa Valley area. I’m incredibly excited!! It’s gonna be great to see a familiar face. I think we’ll hit up the Sundial Bridge, maybe Shasta State Historic Park and see the ghost town, do some thrifting, and overall just hanging out, chatting about life and life to come (she’s having a baby!! Yay!). She’s one supportive and awesome friend and I can’t wait to get to some adventure here.

BUT FIRST, I need to hit up the gym and clean up a bit.

THEN LATER….I think I have a little date thing tonight. Tehehe. Wine and a movie? Sure, I’m down for that. You’re kinda cute and you keep chatting me up? Yeah, sure! I’ll go for that too.

Love and Hate

I LOVE food.

But I HATE exercising.

Trying to get away from processed foods is incredibly hard! But I’m trying really hard to prepare all my food myself. So tonight…

Ahi burgers!

And might I say, it was delish!! Super super easy too. I didn’t exactly follow a recipe, but got the overall idea from a few. Here’s an estimate of what I did:

3oz of minced ahi tuna

1tsp of minced ginger

2tbsp of chopped green onion

A dash of salt and pepper

1/2 an egg white

Mix ingredients together, then place on a HOT frying pan. Flip the burger over after about 1 1/2 minutes, and leave for about the same time on second side. Tada! Your burger is complete. I mixed a little bit of wasabi and light Miracle Whip to add a some extra flava to the burger.

Tada! How easy is that. Literally took me about 10 minutes.
